Job Description

Our caring Hospitality team provide expert and dedicated care to our residents. As a Housekeeper at The Manor, you provide residents the support they need to live independently within a supportive community. Housekeepers contribute to this goal by ensuring that the residents reside in a clean and sanitary environment. With a dedication to service and a strong work ethic, yours is an important role that contributes to the quality of life residents enjoy at The Manor. This is a highly collaborative position where you will work with the nursing staff, LNAs and PCAs to insure a clean and sanitary living environment for residents and provide a pleasant atmosphere for guests.

Housekeepers ensure all designated areas of their employer’s homes or premises are kept clean and tidy. Housekeepers typically work in hotels, assisted living facilities, and private homes.  In a typical day, a housekeeper will complete a range of tasks including:

  • Vacuuming, mopping and waxing floors
  • Dusting surfaces and cleaning lighting fixtures in bedrooms, living areas and other parts of the home or facility
  • Changing and laundering bedsheets, replacing linens
  • Removing garbage and recycling
  • Restocking amenities such as toilet paper and face tissue

Education & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or previous experience
  • On the job training provided

Income & Benefits

  • Averages $12 to $16 per hour

Cook

Job Description

As a Cook at The Manor, you provide residents the support they need to live independently within a supportive community. You ensure that residents receive healthy and balanced meals with adherence to specialized dietary needs. With a dedication to service and a strong work ethic, yours is an important role that contributes to the quality of life residents enjoy at The Manor.

This is a highly collaborative position where you will work with the medical staff including dieticians to insure healthy and pleasing meals for residents and provide a pleasant dining experience for our special guests. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all meals are of high quality content and well presented
  • Food guidelines are adhered to at all times
  • Foodstuffs are kept within the budget limits
  • Oversee kitchen assistants and help them to understand their duties and perform them at the highest of standards
  • Respect confidentiality and ensure that it is maintained at all times
  • Always be polite and helpful to residents and visitors

Cooks oversee kitchens and are responsible for designing menus, developing original recipes and keeping their kitchen stocked with ingredients. The educational path to becoming a cook varies, but many students choose to complete 2-year or 4-year culinary arts programs. Apprenticeship programs are also available.

Education & Qualifications

  • Varies, but can include on-the-job training, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degrees in culinary arts, and apprenticeships
  • Voluntary certification available through the American Culinary Federation

Income & Benefits

  • Averages $22 – $25 per hour for chefs and head cooks
  • Benefits available with full time employment

Dietary Aide

Job Description

Dietary Aides ensures patients menu selections are in compliance with prescribed diet order, nutritional adequacy, age, cultural background, and religious practice. A dietary aide works to help prepare food for patients in assisted living or medical facilities. Additionally, a dietary aide will keep food preparation areas sanitized and orderly.  Responsibilities include:

  • Obtains menu choices from patients and guests via phone order or patient visitation.
  • Ensures meal orders have been transmitted to correct location for meal preparation.

Education & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or previous experience
  • On the job training provided

Income & Benefits

  • Averages $16 – $18 per hour
  • Benefits available with full time employment
